Né en 1975, Denis Bouyer est diplômé de l’Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) de Toulouse depuis 1999. Il a soutenu sa thèse en 2002 au LIPE (ex. LISPB) à l’INSA, ses recherches portant sur le procédé de floculation en cuve agitée pour une application en potabilisation des eaux. En septembre 2003, il a été recruté en tant que Maître de Conférences à l’Université Montpellier 2. Il a obtenu son Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches en 2010 et en 2011 il a rejoint l’Institut Européen des Membranes et le département GPM (Génie des Procédés Membranaires). Depuis septembre 2013, il occupe un poste de Professeur des Universités à l’Université Montpellier 2. Il effectue ses activités de recherche à l’IEM et ses activités d’enseignements à la Faculté des Sciences (FdS) de l’UM2 et à Polytech Montpellier ; dans ce contexte, il est responsable pour la Faculté des Sciences du département d’enseignement PeiP (Parcours des Elèves Ingénieurs Polytech). Ses domaines de recherches concernent le Génie des Produits, appliqué à l’élaboration de matrices polymères complexes (hydrogels à base de polymère naturels, membranes polymères pour le traitement des eaux) et plus spécifiquement, il développe une approche de modélisation/simulation en lien avec la morphogénèse des membranes polymère (transferts couplés matière/chaleur dans les systèmes complexes). Il est par ailleurs responsable de l’équipe « élaboration » au sein du département GPM de l’IEM. Récemment, ses recherches se sont notamment orientées vers l’élaboration de membranes vertes sans solvant organique ; il est dans ce contexte coordinateur du projet ANR POMEWISO (POlymeric Membrane WIthout SOlvent) du programme CD2I. En septembre 2013, il comptait plus de 35 publications dans des revues internationales à comité de lecture.
