The objective of these researches, in a context of clean and green chemistry, is to produce polymer membranes of controlled porosity, on one hand from biopolymers rather than from synthetic ones, on the other hand by developing new phase separation processes which enable to use water rather than an organic solvent. A twin product-process approach is used to understand mechanisms involved for the elaboration and to model them. Moreover, the life cycle assessment of these new membranes is taken into account.
