Patrice Huguet has been a professor at the University Montpellier 2 since 2001, where he teaches thermodynamics and molecular spectroscopy. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry–Physical Chemistry in 1992 from the University Montpellier 2. Then, he joined, as an associate professor, the Laboratory of Membrane Materials and Processes where he studied chemical and physical properties of membrane materials for dialysis and electrodialysis, by Raman spectroscopy. In 2000, he joined the European Membrane Institute where he developed new techniques for the characterization of transport processes in ion-exchange membranes. In recent years, his research interest has mainly been devoted to the development of original experimental setups, based on confocal Raman microscopy, for measuring water gradients across the polymer membrane working in the fuel cell.
