 bsp\;\n\nHealth and water are global challenges and thus part of the Susta
 inable Development Goals 3 and 6 respectively. Simple and low-cost diagnos
 tic sensing tools are important in health\, food and environmental monitor
 ing. Furthermore\, sustainable and more robust complementary and/or altern
 ative water treatment methods are needed to meet the challenges of providi
 ng usable water from polluted water or wastewater. The application of elec
 trochemistry to meeting these challenges cannot be overemphasised. Electro
 chemistry is a core science behind technologies such as sensors\, biosenso
 rs\, fuel cell\, solar cell\, water splitting\, hydrogen generation\, non-
 conventional water treatment and other low cost/sustainable industrial met
 hods. In this seminar\, I present an overview of my research contribution 
 in electrochemistry for sensors and water treatment. I will place emphasis
  on the use of nanomaterials such as dendrimer in sensor design and the us
 e of semiconductors in the design of photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) systems f
 or the removal of organics pollutants from water. I will share my research
  progression in materials electrochemistry with semiconductors and heteroj
 unctions especially for water treatment. I look forward to meeting you all
  for an interesting discussion and contributions towards solving our globa
 l challenges together.\n\n&nbsp\;
