Project « Submerged forward osmosis (Sub-FO) for water in circular economy »
Gaetan Blandin graduated in 1999 in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nantes (France) and then worked during 13 years in the industry in Belgium at Lhoist Research Centre. During this professional experience, he worked on the development of new lime/imestone based products, process optimisation and customer support for water treatment applications. Then, in 2012, he started his doctoral research on forward osmosis and graduated from his PhD in 2015 from Ghent University (Belgium) and the UNESCO Centre for Membrane Science and Technology located at the University of New South Wales (Sydney/Australia). After working during 4 years as postdoctoral researcherwithin the Lequia group at the University of Girona (Spain), he is now Marie-Curie Tecniospring+ postdoctoral fellow working at Eurecat and currently in a research stay for one year at IEM. The objective of his current main project is to develop submerged forward osmosis process in the context of water in the circular economy.
