Born in 1975, Denis Bouyer received a master’s degree from National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse (INSA) in 1999. He defended his thesis in 2002 in LIPE laboratory (INSAT), dealing with flocculation process for drinking water treatment. In September 2003, he arrived in University Montpellier 2 as assistant professor and he conducted his research in LGPEB (Laboratory of Chemical Engineering, Water and Bioproducts). In November 2010, he obtained the accreditation to supervise researches and since 2011, he conducts his research in the European Institute of Membranes (UMR CNRS 5635) in Montpellier. Since September 2013, he is Professor in University Montpellier 2, in the European Institute of Membranes for research activities. Besides, he delivers teaching services in the University Montpellier 2 and Polytech Montpellier, where he is in charge of PeiP department. His research field deals with the Chemical Product Engineering applied to polymeric materials and more specifically he develops modeling approaches in relation with membrane fabrication (numerical models for mass and/or heat transfer phenomena); in this respect, he is responsible of the elaboration team in the Chemical Engineering Department in IEM (GPM). So, he participated to develop new hydrogels from natural polymers for medical applications, or organic membranes by phase separation processes for water treatment applications. Recently, his researches focused on new green membranes without organic solvent for water treatment and in this context, he is coordinator of POMEWISO project (POlymeric Membrane WIthout SOlvent) from CD2I ANR program (French Research Agency). In September 2013, he had more than 35 publications.
