Marc HERAN a obtenu son Doctorat en Génie des Procédés en 2000 à l’Université de Montpellier 2. Sa thématique de recherche, au sein de l’équipe Génie des Procédés membranaire, s’intéresse plus particulièrement à l’intégration des procédés membranaires (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nano-filtration et osmose inverse) en séparation Liquide/Solide avec une vue orienté vers le traitement des effluents. Il œuvre également à l’identification des mécanismes limitants et à la définition et mise en œuvre d’outils de contrôle de processus pour la maitrise de la filtration. Partenaire de nombreux projets européens (LIFE, STREP), il développe avec l’ANR des partenariats afin de définir les filières de traitement de demain : gestion de l’eau, des déchets et valorisations des co-produits tout comme l’intégration de la chimie des interfaces dans le développement de séparation sélective par membrane. Marc HERAN a co-écrit 25 articles publiés dans des journaux internationaux à comité de lecture, et a donné 7 conférences invitées. Depuis 2007, il appartient au groupe de modélisation francophone.
