Because of their selectivity, membrane processes allow selective separations of phases or of compounds dispersed in a continuous phase. The department is involved into two ANR projects in progress on this topic:

– Project DIVA (ANR Bioénergie), whose goal is the biological valorization of organic matter by anaerobic digestion and biogas production ; the work of the group concerns the use of membrane processes as post-treatment of digestates to extract nitrogenous nutrients.

– Project FISSCARDEN (ANR CD2I), relative to the selective recycling of radionucleide cations for the treatment of nuclear effluents. The department has skills on the identification and analysis of processes which would enable an optimized conditioning of the treated compounds.
